DAILY MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES |
1. Gather equipment and supplies.
2. Fill pressure sprayer with one (1) gallon of water. Use
measuring cup and add 1/2 ounce of T.E.T. # 6 DISINFECTANT CLEANER.
3. Block restroom door open with door stop and place RESTROOM
CLOSED sign in restroom doorway.
4. Pick up debris and trash, then sweep floor.
5. Remove cigarette buts and trash from ash-trays. (Completely
clean ashtrays at least once each week.)
6. Empty trash and napkin receptacles, replace liners as needed.
(Clean inside of receptacles at least once a week.)
7. Check and refill all dispensers as needed.
If dispensers do not operate correctly, notify your supervisor.
8. Do high dusting of ledges, tops of partitions etc., using a dampened
cloth.

9. Using pressurized sprayer, spray T.E.T. # 6 DISINFECTANT CLEANER
inside of urinals and toilets. Make sure to direct spray inside, flushing orifices
where odors and stains begin. Allow minimum dwell time of 10 minutes.
10. Spray top and bottom of toilet seats, chrome fixtures and tile behind
each fixture. Spray the floor on your way out.
11. Spraying graffiti and hand prints on stall walls, and along bottom where
urine has splashed.
12. Spray on floor under urinals and stools where urine has splashed, also
under sinks and around floor drains and any other floor area where bacteria might breed.
13. Spray surfaces of sinks, dispensers, and rear walls. Also spray
receptacles, graffiti, and hand prints on walls and woodwork.

14. Spray mirror lightly, then wipe dry with paper towel.
15. Scrub graffiti, hand prints on walls, and dispensers with SCRUB
SPONGE. Dry with paper towel.
16. Scrub sinks with SCRUB SPONGE and wipe dry with paper towel. Use small
scrub brush to clean in corners and cracks.

NOTE: By this time the germicide has had time to work.
17. Scrub inside surfaces of toilets and urinals with BOWL BRUSH, being sure
to scrub upper lip. DO NOT FLUSH!
18. Scrub outside of toilets, urinals and rear wall with BOWL SWAB where
urine has splashed.
19. Wipe toilet seats, toilet bowls, urinals and chrome dry with paper
towel. When finished with each stool, leave toilet seat up.

20. Scrub graffiti and hand prints on stall walls with SCRUB SPONGE and wipe
dry with paper towel.
NOTE: Use small scrub brush to remove dirt from cracks and cleaning grout between
tile.

21. Dilute T.E.T. # 6 DISINFECTANT CLEANER 1/2 oz per gallon. Apply to
the floor using either a Workhorse Wet Mop and bucket or sprayer. Allow minimum
dwell time of 10 minutes. Use deck scrub brush to clean grout between tiles.

22. Push mop head with hand, to clean in all corners. Be sure to mop
behind and around toilets. Mop the entire floor leaving it slightly wet to allow
T.E.T. # 6 DISINFECTANT CLEANER to work.
23. Wring out mop and pick-up remaining solution on floor, wringing out the
mop as needed. Change mop solution when it gets dirty. After changing mop solution,
first re-mop over the cleaned area and then continue picking up remaining solution.
Use squeegee for large areas.
24. Be sure to wipe off cover base and pick up any mop strands caught around
floor posts.
25. When you have finished cleaning the restroom, take one last look around
to see if you have overlooked anything. If there is any condition that requires
attention before the restroom can reflect the good job you have done, notify your
supervisor. Examples: Plumbing leaks, lights burned out, damaged
fixtures, damaged dispensers, broken floor tiles, floor drains.
26. Clean top and sides of drinking fountain outside restrooms. Spray
with T.E.T. # 6 DISINFECTANT CLEANER solution. Scrub with sponge and wipe dry with
paper towel.
27. Damp mop T.E.T. # 6 DISINFECTANT CLEANER solution in front of and around
vending machines adjacent to restrooms.
28. At the end of your shift, wash your mop thoroughly with clear water and
wring out. Rinse your wringer, empty mop bucket and rinse. Straighten strands
of string mop and hang mop in bucket not touching bottom. Rinse sponge, brushes,
swab and chamois. Store sprayer in bottom of cabinet.
29. Put cart and supplies in janitorial storage closet. Make spot
inventory and inform you supervisor if supplies are needed. |
