SPIN BONNET CLEANING (Spray Method)

Bonnet cleaning is an interim maintenance method for carpet care. Like spray buffing on hard surface floors this system is designed for the 20% of your carpet that gets 80% of the traffic. (The traffic lanes). If they can be blended to look like the rest of the area, a longer period of time can elapse before a deep cleaning is required. Bonnet cleaning does not DEEP CLEAN your carpet. It only surface cleans, However, appearance levels can be brought up quickly and the carpet can be back in service quickly.

Equipment:

Pressure sprayer
175 - 300 rpm rotary floor machine
Spin Bonnet Pads
Wet Floor Signs
Upright Vacuum
Mop bucket and wringer
Fans

Chemicals:

Spotter
Prespray
Bonnet Cleaner
Air Freshener



Instructions:

  1. Place wet floor signs.
  2. Clear the area of merchandise and store fixtures to make cleaning easier and quicker.
  3. Remove spots and stains, using the appropriate Franklin Spotter. Refer to the Stain Removal Guide for detailed instructions for a wide variety of stains.
  4. Check the vacuum to make sure it is operating properly. Check the vacuum recovery bag, empty or replace it if full. Vacuum the area thoroughly.
  5. Mix the Prespray solution according to the directions on the product label.
  6. Place the Prespray solution into a pump up sprayer and spray the area as required.
  7. Mix the Bonnet Cleaner solution according to the directions on the product label. If desired, add Air Freshener to the cleaning solution following label instructions.
  8. Fill pump up sprayer with Bonnet Cleaner solution and spray the carpet in three foot widths, holding the nozzle 16" to 20" above the carpet.
  9. Spray Bonnet Cleaner solution on both sides of the bonnet pad.
  10. Place the bonnet beneath the floor machine and work across the carpet in a slow, side to side motion. Move slowly backward, making sure to overlap the cleaned area.
  11. Flip the bonnet pads over as they become soiled (200 - 300 sq. ft.).
  12. Rinse soiled bonnets thoroughly in a bucket filled with clean water. Put bonnet in a wringer and squeeze out as much water as possible. Re-spray Bonnet Cleaner solution and continue cleaning the area. Change bonnets as they become soiled.
  13. Use fans to speed up drying.
  14. When dry, vacuum area thoroughly.
  15. Put away equipment and supplies. Clean or wipe down equipment and return it to storage.
